program description:
The Rural GME Administrator Leadership Institute is a one-year program aimed at enhancing leadership skills and expanding networks for administrators/coordinators in rural residency programs. Recognizing the limited opportunities for training and mentorship available to administrators/coordinators representing rural medical education, the Leadership Institute focuses on unique professional development needs. It equips participants to effectively manage rural GME programs while fostering connections with peer administrators. Participants also engage in monthly mentoring sessions to discuss their roles, address challenges, and receive guidance on their Leadership Institute projects.
In order to be eligible for the Rural GME Coordinator Leadership Institute, participants need to:
Have at least 3-5 years as a administrator/coordinator (or similar professional experience)
Be employed by or have a strong connection to a rural program or underserved program
Provide your CV and letter of support from your Program Director or person you report to
Be passionate about rural GME!
Participants are expected to:
Attend ALL monthly sessions
Arrange schedule to avoid conflicting meetings or appointments
Be fully engaged in the learning process
Complete a project which will be virtually presented to your peers
Invest an estimated 3-4 hours per month which includes sessions, meeting individually with a mentor, and project work

Please note the RMTC Annual Meeting registration is a separate registration from the Leadership Institute
Scholarships:
One $300 Scholarship and one $150 Scholarship are available. These are highly competitive. A letter from your Program Director or person you report to will be required.
