Rural GME Coordinator Institute 2024-2025

dates:

April, 2024 - April, 2025
(dates and tentative agenda listed below)

program description:

The Rural GME Coordinator Leadership Institute is a program that is designed to provide participants with opportunities to grow and further develop leadership skills while expanding their leadership networks.  Coordinators play a critical role in the leadership of rural residency programs and there are limited opportunities for coordinators to develop skills necessary to effectively manage a rural GME program.  To that end, a leadership institute has been created that will focus on the unique professional development needs of coordinators who may have limited access to training, mentoring, and a network of peer coordinators.

The institute will be a year-long learning community with regularly scheduled sessions and/or activities.  While most sessions will be held virtually, the initial kick-off session will be held in person prior to the RTT Collaborative Annual Meeting in Asheville, NC.  Participants will engage with and learn from seasoned GME administrators and leaders.

In order to be eligible for the Rural GME Coordinator Leadership Institute, participants need to:

  • Have at least 3-5 years as a coordinator (or similar professional experience)

  • Be employed by or have a strong connection to a rural program

  • Provide your CV and letter of support from your Program Director or person you report to

  • Be passionate about rural GME!

Participants are expected to:

  • Attend ALL monthly sessions

  • Arrange schedule to avoid conflicting meetings or appointments

  • Complete preparatory work for all monthly sessions

  • Engage in the learning process

Program cost & Apply:

Program Cost:
