September 21, 2023 - Spotlight on Rural Poster & Recruitment Fair

27 posters were presented and attendees were asked to vote for the top 3 posters.  Congratulations to our top 3!

1st Place:  Cascade Screening for Familial Hypercholesterolemia in Pediatrics by Morgan Lentz, UW School of Medicine and Public Health

This free webinar series, developed by the Faculty for Tomorrow Task Force, provides fundamental knowledge and skills that new faculty and residents as educators need to thrive in a career in academic family medicine.

Residency Faculty Fundamentals
This certificate program includes self-led courses with assignments to provide foundational training for residency faculty. Completion of the track requires a minimum of 30 hours and covers:

  • The structure and requirements of residency education

  • How to be an effective and efficient faculty member

  • The nuts and bolts of curriculum development and teaching

  • Strategies for assessment, feedback, and remediation of residents

National Institute for Program Director Development (NIPDD):

NIPPD Fellowship
The NIPDD fellowship uses a one-of-a-kind, adult learning model to enhance knowledge, attitudes, and skills and to groom participants to become effective residency program directors. This program is available for family medicine faculty and new program directors.

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA):

Rural Interprofessional Faculty Development Initiative (RIFDI)
Rural Interprofessional Faculty Development Initiative (RIFDI) is a two-year training program designed to attract providers, improve clinician job satisfaction and retention, and develop teaching and training skills for educators in rural settings. A long-term goal is to develop new training programs for clinicians in rural areas, exposing new trainees to rural practice environments.
